Terms & Conditions

The following terms and conditions govern the contractual relationship between Kosmetikstudio Basel – Salon de Beauté (hereinafter "Studio") and its customers (hereinafter "Clients"). By booking an appointment, purchasing a voucher or receiving a treatment, these terms in their current version are accepted.

1. Scope and contracting parties

These terms apply to all treatments, services, product purchases and vouchers of Kosmetikstudio Basel – Salon de Beauté, owner Maity Simon, Gerbergasse 24, 4001 Basel (hereinafter "we"). Deviating agreements require our written confirmation.

2. Contract conclusion and booking

Appointments can be booked by phone at +41 61 261 88 80, by email to info@kosmetikstudio-basel.ch, in person at the studio or through our online booking partner Treatwell. A binding treatment contract is formed upon booking.

First-time clients are kindly asked to complete a skin and health history questionnaire before their appointment so that we can prepare the treatment optimally.

3. Cancellation, rescheduling and no-shows

We kindly ask for your understanding: short-notice cancellations cause financial loss, as the reserved time cannot be reallocated to another client:

• Cancellation or rescheduling up to 24 hours before the appointment: free of charge.
• Cancellation less than 24 hours before the appointment or no-show: 100% of the agreed treatment price.

Cancellations must be made by phone, email or via Treatwell. In justified exceptional cases (e.g. medically confirmed illness), we will always find an accommodating solution.

4. Punctuality and lateness

Please arrive punctually so you can enjoy the full treatment time. For delays of more than 15 minutes, we reserve the right to shorten the treatment accordingly or – if subsequent appointments would otherwise be affected – to cancel it. The full treatment price will be charged in this case.

5. Consultation, skin analysis and treatment procedure

Every treatment begins with a personal consultation and – where useful – a skin analysis. Based on this analysis, the treatment plan may differ from the original booking. We will inform you in advance of any potential price differences.

6. Health self-disclosure and contraindications

Clients are obliged to inform us truthfully and fully before the treatment begins about any health conditions that could affect the treatment. These include:

• Pregnancy and breastfeeding
• Existing skin conditions (e.g. eczema, psoriasis, active herpes, couperose, open wounds)
• Allergies and intolerances (fragrances, preservatives, latex, wax, actives etc.)
• Diabetes, cancer, autoimmune diseases
• Cardiovascular conditions, pacemaker, metal implants (relevant for microcurrent and ultrasound treatments)
• Use of blood-thinning medications, cortisone, isotretinoin (Roaccutane) or other skin-active preparations
• Recently performed cosmetic or dermatological procedures (fillers, Botox, laser, peels)
• Fresh tan or sunburn

In the presence of a contraindication, we reserve the right to decline, modify or postpone the treatment. We accept no liability for consequences arising from withheld or incomplete information.

7. Special notes on apparative treatments

Additional information obligations apply for treatments with BT Nano microcurrent, BT Micro ultrasound, microneedling and Pro Power Peel (fruit acid). You will be informed before the treatment about effects, possible reactions (e.g. redness, tightness, light flaking) and required aftercare measures (sun protection, skincare products, avoidance of certain activities). These instructions are binding.

8. Treatment of minors

For clients under 16, written consent of a legal guardian is required for facial and acne treatments as well as waxing and lash/brow care. A guardian should accompany the first appointment.

9. Prices, price changes and VAT

The prices valid at the time of service are those listed in our current price list. All prices are in Swiss Francs (CHF) and include the statutory VAT of currently 8.1%. Price changes are reserved.

10. Payment

Payment is made directly after the treatment at the studio. Accepted payment methods:

• Cash (CHF)
• EC/debit card and common credit cards
• Bitcoin (subject to availability)
• Vouchers from our studio

In case of late payment, reminder fees of CHF 20 per reminder and default interest pursuant to Art. 104 of the Swiss Code of Obligations will be charged from the first reminder.

11. Gift vouchers

• Gift vouchers are valid for one year from the date of issue (Art. 127 CO). After this period, the voucher expires.
• Vouchers can be redeemed for all treatments and products at the studio.
• Cash payout of the voucher value is not possible. Any remaining balance may be used during a later visit.
• Lost, stolen or forgotten vouchers will not be replaced.
• Transfer to third parties is possible as long as the voucher is not personalised.

12. Product sales and returns

For hygienic reasons, return or exchange of opened cosmetic products is excluded. Unopened and originally sealed products can be exchanged within 14 days of purchase with the sales receipt. Statutory warranty rights apply for verifiable defects.

13. Complaints

Your satisfaction is important to us. If you are not satisfied with a treatment or a product, please let us know immediately after the treatment – or at the latest within 7 days. We will find a solution together.

14. Liability

We are only liable for damages demonstrably caused by gross negligence or intent on our part. Our liability is in any case limited to the amount of the respective treatment costs.

Our liability is specifically excluded for:

• Consequences arising from incomplete or inaccurate health information
• Skin reactions despite correctly performed treatment and consultation
• Damages resulting from failure to follow our aftercare instructions
• Loss or damage to valuables, clothing or jewellery brought with you

We therefore recommend keeping jewellery and valuables safely stored or leaving them at home.

15. House rules and conduct in the studio

We ask for respectful behaviour towards our staff and other clients. In the event of inappropriate behaviour, strong odours (e.g. alcohol), non-compliance with hygiene requirements or repeated unexcused no-shows, we reserve the right to terminate the treatment or refuse future bookings.

16. Photos and social media

We occasionally publish photos of treatments and results on our website or social media channels (Instagram, Facebook). Such photos are only taken with the express and voluntary consent of the person depicted. Consent may be withdrawn at any time.

17. Privacy

Information on the collection, processing and use of personal data can be found in our Privacy Policy.

18. Severability clause

Should individual provisions of these terms be wholly or partially invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions shall remain unaffected. The invalid provision shall be replaced by an effective provision that comes closest to the economic purpose of the invalid provision.

19. Applicable law and jurisdiction

Swiss law applies exclusively, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG). The exclusive place of jurisdiction for any disputes arising from or in connection with these terms is Basel-Stadt.
